    3. Hello again I never considered this as a source before hearing about 2 of my friend who had success with this reference -The books are for sale-there are 7 volumes so far and more on the way they contain records derived from ads for finding missing Irish persons placed in the Boston Pilot during 1847 to the early 1900s, ads in which the missing persons are identified as either having left Ireland or arrived in North America during that time. Include date of ad, name of missing person, gender of missing person, county, parish, townland, barony, and poor-law district of origin, description of missing person, ship and port of departure of missing person, name of person placing ad, relationship of seeker to sought. I figured all this time that the immigrant would have had to been in Boston-but not so-they are from all over the US and Canada since the paper was widley circulated at the time. Each Volume costs about $45-pretty steep-but Vol 1 and 2 for ads placed in 1847 and 1848 are available as a freedownload online--It's pretty hit and miss cause your ancestor first of all had to missing since having left Ireland-and the subscriber had to have known of the service as well as had the $ to place the ad-but it may be worth a try for some! I downloaded using exel-worked out really well-Link below- Good Luck Hunting Nancy...Orlando Ryan/Clarke-wexford Ryan/O'Flaherty-galway Ryan/Maxwell/Williams/Kielly-Qld/au http://dpls.dacc.wisc.edu/Irish/fr_acc.htm _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
