    3. I am looking for connections to JULIA CLARKE who was born 12 Jun 1809 in Co. Wexford and died 03 Feb 1872 in Rome, New York, USA aged 62 years. She married JAMES MURPHY, who was born about 1807 in Co. Wexford. James died between 1850 & 1872 in Rome, NY. He had brothers & sisters still living at the time of his death. The couple emigrated to Rome, NY, USA by 31 July 1850 where their daughter BRIDGET MURPHY, (b. 1826), wed Mikel Kehoe. They also had a daughter MARY C. MURPHY born about 1836. I am a Murphy descendant and believe that James was related to my gr-gr grandfather Thomas C. Murphy born 1829 in Enniscorthy. Thank you, Suzanne T.

She lives in Wexford town now but is a Quinn of Rosegarland (just outside Clongeen village) and her husband, as you said, is from Bannow. Rose was a great aunt of Patricia: Patricia's father John Quinn (who married Mary Lacey of Newbawn, my line) was a son of Patrick Quinn, who was a brother of Rose Quinn who married Patrick Murphy of Ballyfrory in Bannow. She has done a lot of research on her family tree so if you feel strongly that your Quinns are the same as hers I'm sure she'd be happy to chat.   Eileen   ----- Original Message -----   From: rolfes@comcast.net   To: wexford@rootsweb.com   Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2009 11:02 AM   Subject: Re: [WEXFORD] More Doyles. 3. Imelda - and all,. Thanks for your reply. I guess I'd need to know who were the Nolan in-laws. Is there anyone still living that you can ask? The Nolan family that I know about probably came from Kiltealy, Ballycrystal, Templeshanbo, Co.Wexford. I think my GGGrandfather was Nicholas, or John Nicholas, and Bridget/Brigid O'Neill and the children that I know were: Michael, James, Anastasia, Mary Jane, Ellen, Catherine and Elizabeth. I think Mary Jane married Michael Corcoran. My Great grandfather, Michael, came to America August 22, 1853. He paid for passage for his brother James to come in 1854. I think Michael was born between 1815-1819. Census records indicate different ages, and I've never gotten documentation from Ireland. Let me know if you know of any connections. Thank you. 1. [WEXFORD] WYSE/DOUGAN
    2. Kathie Weinberger
    3. I am looking for information on Wyse and Dougan families in Wexford County. My gggrandfather, John B. Wyse, was born in 1797, and my gggrandmother Elizabeth Dougan on January 11, 1810. They were married in 1826 in the house in which she was born, in Clonsharragh. I believe Clonsharragh is in Shelburne, St.James and Dunbrody, New Ross. Could anyone tell me what Catholic parish that would be and if parish records are available? Would it have been usual for them to be married in her home instead of a church? They emigrated to Wisconsin in the United States in 1949 with Elizabeth's mother, Margaret Dougan and their seven children: Margaret b.1835, John b. 1835, James, b.1840, Patrick b.1841, Mary b.1842, Joanna b.1847 and William b.1849. I appreciate any help. Thank you. Kathie

    3. Hello Joan, The story of Rose Quinn in the story 'Restless Spirit 'is told by Patricia Murphy, nee Quinn, although it was written by a 'ghost writer' so I guess this was Margaret Hawkins. I have met Patricia a number of times as her tree connects with mine. 1. Re: [WEXFORD] More Doyles. Murphys, Redmonds, Laceys, McCrearys
    2. It seems based on fact but embellished by fiction. Easy read and gives a look at Wexford at the time. I got a copy used on Amazon for $4.00. As for my Quinns I think are just a little north of yours but not sure of exact location maybe Clongeen or Newbawn. I am waiting for a birth cert so may know more then. Thomas Quinn went to Baltimore abt 1894, followed by Mary 1899 and alone at the age of 11 (must be a story there). She returned to Wexford abt 1904 and returned with a James Quinn in 1904. Thomas may have also returned as I only find him in the 1900 census. I cannot find James in the 1901 for Wexford so not sure of exact location. They all went to MD to live with Aunt Johanna McDonnell/McDonald and her husband Ambrose who both left Ireland abt 1881.
