    3. I am trying to find a marriage of Nicholas Power c 1853 in Chapel, Kilmore, Wexford. Nicholas married Anastasia whose surname has been variously spelt Cuzens, Cirson, Cousins. Some in the family feel that she may have been married before and her first married name may have been Harpur or Harper, Could anyone out there help to clear up this mystery please. On the 1853 Griffiths Valuations there is an Anastasia Harpur (widow) listed, as is Nicholas Powerat a separate address. The first child that we know of was born in 1854. Thank you, Valerie Power, Australia

    2. Ken Williams
    3. I have been intersested in the names of the men who died at the battle of Oulart Hill in 1798. My ancestor's name is SOMERS, and that is one of the names inscribed on one of the rocks leading up the pathway. I have often wondered how these men were remembered. Was it just word of mouth? I would be grateful for any information whatsoever about the source(s). My relationship to this man is to some extent supposition, but, given the baptism and marriage facts of the family at about the time in question, my ancestor certainly fits the bill. Thanks, Ken Williams Formby, England

    1. [WEXFORD] STAFFORDS Ballyvarogue County Wexford
    2. Michael J. O'Brien
    3. My great-grandmother Margaret STAFFORD was from Ballyvarogue (Ballyvarig). She was born about January 1 1850. Other researchers have told me that there were two Stafford brothers John and Martin descended from Thomas Stafford born in 1767 in Ballyvarig about the time of Margaret's birth. John and Martin reportedly lived on different farms in Ballyvarig. Martin Stafford may have had a daughter Margaret that was reportedly born about 1846. The differences in dates is 4 years but I am wondering if this is the family of my great-grandmother. Margaret came to the US in 1869 through the port of New York. In the US Census of 1870 Margaret was listed as living in Baltimore City and working as a servant. Margaret married Edward Kehoe, the son of James Kehoe, and Mary Furlong (from Ramsgrange)January 15, 1872. First I was hoping someone could help me to determine whether this Margaret Stafford is my great-grandmother, and is she a relative of either Martin or John. Stafford families reportedly still live in Ballyvarig. I don't know whether it would be correct and appropriate but I was thinking of trying to contact Stafford families via regular mail and describe my research searching for Margaret. My problem here is I don't know how to go about obtaining an address for a specific family or families living in Ballyvarig. I have used the regular mail, post, in the US with modest success but I don't want to offend anyone using this specific protocol. Also, does anyone know what parish this family may have belonged so I can inquire about my family via a request to the parish rector. Thank you for any assistance! Mike Buckingham PA
