Patrick married mary mcdermott and they had at least one daughter, catherine who was born in 1835 in ballygarvan. catherine married john byrne in 1859. any information on catherine's parents and/or brothers and sisters would be greatly appreciated, regards john byrne
Margaret must have been a very special lady, born 1771, married 1975 at age 204, then going on to have a large family ! Hi Kim, I don't think I can help you with your specific search. But I have been searching Furlongs for a rather long time with minimal results. So, every time I see a Furlong it peaks my curiosity. My great-great-grandmother was Mary A. Furlong. Mary's obit listed that she was from Ramsgrange. Even that bit hasn't helped me. I have other relatives from Ramsgrage, my grandfather Thomas Cushing (Cushen). Mary Furlong was born about 1811. Her first husband was James Kehoe. She married a John Flynn when James died. Mary likely had possibly a brother Thomas Furlong. They all arrived in Baltimore in the late 1850s. Cara, Just wondering if you have anything from parish records on Walter Murphy (born c.1807 - died poss 1891) from Tinnacarrig, Adamstown? I've checked the other obvious sources so it's only parish records I'm wondering about. He had a daughter Bridget Murphy around 1848 who ended up living in Faree, Newbawn. This line may tie in to Murphys in Horetown or to a John Murphy (born c.1830) of Ballyclemock, Newbawn. No hurry, Thanks, Eileen
Does anyone in Limerick or Wexford know anything about one John Devereux of Ballyrankin House? He was born in Limerick in 1798, was a Major in the Wexford Militia in 1801. He married a daughter of Hyacinth Daly, of Kilmore Castle, who was Mayor of Galway. Dying in 1841, he was succeeded by his elder son the Rev. Nicholas Devereux, D.D. Ballyrankin House, who was the Rector and Prebondary of the Parish of Kilrush. He died in 1867 and was succeeded by the eldest of his five sons. John Daly Devereux who was a barrister and who served as Captain in the Wexford Militia. On his death Ballyrankin passed to his brother, the Rev. Nicholas J. Devereux, London who was chaplain to the Duke of Portland. I am trying to determine if he had a sister named Elizabeth Devereaux DeLacy, who may have married in Co. Wexford in 1821 and came to Montreal in about 1840.
