I only know that Joseph Miller was born in Wexford in approx 1791. I don't have religion, but I know he was in the Navy and went to England to live in Bristol and married twice. His son Jabez was born there and is my gg grandfather and he immigrated to Australia, where I am. I found most of this information on Jabez's immigration papers and death cert. I am new at this and don't know where to go next. Thanks for your help. On 11/10/2010, at 6:01 PM, wexford-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. Having connections to the research you are doing it has been suggested to look in this area for George Little Steeping, Lincolnshire, England But as he came as a mariner to Tasmania have you had time to check the records to see if he is listed as a missing ( jumped ship ) mariner which happened in those times, sometimes found in Police Gazettes which I think are now online ( been away cannot confirm that) and also there is a book on mariners who jumped ship in the Devonport Library Tasmania so I would suggest it is in other libraries ( green cover) Just some suggestions but Bosworth is not a typically Irish name I think >From my Irish experience I would look on the UK lists for this name to begin with. Just a suggestion nothing you have to follow though. Looking for help finding my Bulger/Bolger family who came from Wexford ? Ireland to St. John's, Newfoundland. My great grandfather, Nicholas Bulger/Bolger was a cooper in St. John's . I am not sure if he was born in Newfoundland or Ireland. i am guessing that his birth was around 1810? I know nothing about any siblings that Nicholas might have had either in Newfoundland or Ireland. Nicholas married Catherine Laricy and they had a son, Edward, who was born around 1835 and died on Nov. 12, 1890 in St. John's. Edward was a cooper by trade. He married Anne Murphy on 9/28/1860 at the Basillica of St. John the Baptist Church in St. John's. They had 9 children, four were living in 1900.: Nicholas Edward: Born 8/29/1861 in St. John's. He moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1883 and died in Cambridge on 10/10/1912. He was a cooper. William Joseph: Born 11/2/1863 in St. John's. He moved to Cambridge, Ma, in 1898. He was a cooper. . he died on 12/5/1935 in Cambridge, Ma. Patrick J : Born 3/6/1866 in St. John's. He moved to Cambridge, Ma. around 1892. He was a cooper. He died on 3/41927 in Cambridge, Ma. Johannah ( Annie ) Catherine: Born 2/19/1873 in St. John's. She moved to Cambridge, Ma. around 1897. She died in Cambroidge, Ma. around 2/18/1913. This may be a long shot but I am wondering if anyone has any information of my 3G x Grandfather, Thomas FLETCHER, believed to have been born around 1815 at Fethard, Co. Wexford, and possibly the son of a Bridget WELSH. By 1834, Thomas had joined the Coastguard Service and was posted to Looe in Cornwall where he subsequently settled. Best wishes, David Fletcher.

Patrick Byrne, buried Monachan Taghmon 1842 had sons James 1800 - 1872, Daniel, William (1805 - 1889) and Edward, who married Bess Pender, whose daughter Fanny Byrne 1838 - 1892 married Marks Walsh. The family had been in Doonooney but by this time were in Newtown, later Grasscur. Edward was 1st cousin to my grandfather... the name John was very likely in the family; I have not had time to see where Ballygarvan is as yet - Kevin ----- Original Message ----- From: "John B" <lidan1413@hotmail.com> To: <wexford@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 03, 2010 5:56 PM Subject: [WEXFORD] patrick pender (prendergast) my great-great grandfather patrick pender was born in co. wexford (possibly ballygarvan) sometime around 1800.
