Thanks, Brian. This is also, in larger size, on the Wexford Library site (www.Wexford.ie/library.htm). Of interest, they apparently are fierce about these "sporting colors of purple and gold". When I was there in October of '96 there was a national sporting match --soccor, I think_and purple and gold flags, banners, pennants, etc. were everywhere. As a matter of fact, when I found the ruins of a mud house that my ancestors had inhabited, I saw that the stones in front of the cottage had been painted purple and gold. Milli

Would anyone know the location of Charles Fort, Parish of Ferns, Wexford, cica 1860? Also, would original birth, death, and marriage records from Co.Wexford (1850-1885) still reside in the county or would they only be in Dublin, at the General Reisters Office? Thanks, Joe Murphy
I need some help starting my research in Wexford Co. I know that Francis Stedman married Elizabeth Austin (Aston?) and presumably both were born in Wexford Co. Francis was born circa 1776, Elizabeth 1784. The family was Protestant (possibly Methodist). They emigrated from Ireland in 1817. Can anyone give me some suggestions. Thanks Marcia Stedman Bellingham, Wa

After sending the Balto to Ireland 2 fer offer from Aer Lingus, I emailed my large computer connected family and within 24 hours booked 15 of us. 2 other families have joined in. It will be a logistic nightmare planning it but I know we will have fun. I am going for 2 weeks to do research and they are going for a shorter time. Please email me off list if you have researched there to give me tips where to look and B&B's close by. rolfes@erols.com Between that and my son's upcoming wedding, I am busy but will get to those I said I will help. Dear Listmates, I need a lookup in Griffith's. I suspect a man I have been looking for is hiding in a son-in-law's house all this time! Could someone see if there is a PATRICK CODY(COADY) living in the home of PATRICK RONAN, in the townland of Rathangan. While you're there, also try the household of Walter Stafford. When John Cody wrote to his emigrant son (who went to PEI) he mentioned these names but didn't identify their relationship to him. Thanks very much in advance. -- Shirley K. Hello This is my first time here. I've been instructed to list my surnames and dates. Barry is the only surname I am really interested in. Specifically from Wexford. The family I am most interested in was born in Tecumshin Parish. around the 1700's John BARRY (b.1753)and Wife Catherine KELLY (b.1757)were both born in Tecumshin parish and gave birth to John (1745), Eleanor (?) and Patrick (?) and maybe others. John Barry (1757) left for America and I know much more about him becouse he is the famous Commadore John BARRY, Father of the American Navy. His sister Eleanor is who I am interested. She married and died in Ireland. When she and her first husband died her children Thomas and Patrick moved to America and were raised by John BARRY. If you can help me with any of the details of this family such as last names of Eleanor I would appreciate it. Barry Ryder-My first name is my mothers maiden name.

Has anyone come across any WESTNOTTs anywhere in Wexford? Sheila gabby@idirect.com Old genealogists never die, they just lose their census.
Try this URL. The Wexford arms are depicted, along with an explanation. http://www.bng.nl/ngw/int/ier/counties/wexford.htm regards, Bernard Wilson
If you are near a reference library, they may have a copy of the History of the Town and County of Wexford, and it has picture of the coat of arms. I am referring to the old edition - don't know about the modern reprints.
