Could the dear person that posted that info, please send it again, I'd sure appreciate the gesture, or send it to me personally. I would then not feel like such a "fool". 3. Regarding this query: >From: Joshua Behn <gen_stonewall_jackson@yahoo.com> >Could anyone enlighten me as to where in Wexford, >Tomnaboley is? On my Great great Grandfatehr's birth >certificate, it says he was born in Tomnaboley, yet I >can find no reference to Tomnaboley on any maps. I'm >assuming it's a small village, too small to be on any >maps, but where exactly is it? The IreAtlas Townland Database is a great resource (and free!): http://www.seanruad.com/cgi-bin/iresrch> Townland Acres County Barony Parish PLU Province Tomnaboley Lower 301 Wexford Gorey Kilcormick Enniscorthy Leinster Tomnaboley Upper 107 Wexford Gorey Kilcormick Enniscorthy Leinster PLU=Poor Law Unit I don't know of a map that will show the exact boundaries. Those with more knowledge doubtless will be able to suggest one, as well as saying more about the political and social qualities of a townland, as the smallest administrative unit. (And perhaps they already have; I receive the list in digest form and therefore won't have seen any prior replies. Gregory Allan Finnegan Cambridge, Massachusetts USA Descended from POOLE, JOHNSTON, WEBSTER, with LEECH and COPELAND connections, from Gorey and Garrybrit (which last can't be too far from Tomnaboley?)

    3. Der Peter and Edel, thanks so much you two for the help with William Lodge. I have forwarded this on to my friend in So Africa. She is thrilled, By the way Edel, I wanted to let you know I have found the "Morgans Hill" Place name in Co Wexford. With Cyrils help and some (probably) FLAHERTY relatives in the area, I have solved the mystery. I thank you again as you helped me so much early on. It pays to keep "plugging" along. 3. Hi, I'm hoping someone may have some information on the following; William Johnson b.1745, his wife Jane ? possible Ferris or Faris b.1752 his sons, Peter b.1780, and Richard b.1782 his brother Thomas and wife, 5 children, John T. b.1804, Alice b.1811, Mary b.? William T. b.1818 and Thomas b.1820 his brother, name unknown, was killed in the IrishInsurrection 1798, believe his sons where John b. 1791 and Thomas b.?? In the Canadian Census it states that William belonged to the Church of England. William was from Wells, Wexford. In the 1708 work Tabual Hiberniae, Henry Pratt, mentions that Wells lies on the main road between Castlebridge and Gorey. On a topographic map of Ireland it, shows "Wells Ho." about 4 miles to the east is "Killincooly." It appears that there are some sort of ruins around "Wells Ho" and only a few buildings at "Killincooly" "Killincooly is at an intersection of two roads. It's about 14 miles north from the city of Wexford and less than a mile from the cliff-edged south east coast. Is "Wells Ho" a farm name or a village? What are the ruins around it? What if anything is standing where "Wells Ho" was? I would greatly appreciate any information on this family, and Wells or Wells Ho. Janis

    2. Judith Parle
    3. Lots of people, it seems, write to ask the location of a townland. Here's a great site where you can search for the location of any townland in Ireland. And if you're not sure you've got the "correct" spelling, try entering just a (discinctive) part of the townland name you've got (e.g. "Tom," instead of the whole word "Tomnaboly"). The search engine will locate all the townlands with the syllable "Tom" in the name. Don't forget to specify the county you're searching! Tomnaboly, by the way, is in Kilcormick Parish, near Gorey. Good luck, and don't forget to thankl Sean! `Judy Parle
