Hi All, I am new to this list and would like to post my surname interest. I have hit a brickwall with my 2xgreat-grandfather Peter Joseph STAFFORD (known as Joseph). I believe he was born in Wexford, Wexford in about 1841 and that his father Peter STAFFORD was a tailor. His mother's name was Mary WHITTY/WHITLY. According to family members Joseph was involved in the Crimean War as a "powder monkey". This would mean that he had probably left home by the time he was 13-14 years of age. By 1866 he was living in Queensland, Australia where he lived and worked, always in some capacity associated with the sea. I have not been able to trace his date of arrival in Australia or any details about his birth or his family. Any help would be welcome. With thanks, Joanne Mitchell, Geelong, Victoria, Australia

Seeking any and all information on the Tubbert family of Templetown and that general area. Edward Tubbert married Anne Hanton, February 17, 1832 according to RC Church records of Templetown. They had son William christened in same church May 2, 1834. William immigrated to U.S. and settled in Syracuse, NY. Seeking information on siblings of William as well as of Edward and other pertinent information. Have great deal of information on this family in U.S. and am willing to share. Jim

Greetings from Canada. My name is Albert Boisvert, from Belleville, Ontario, Canada, and I am searching for my wife's family, JORDAN. MOSES JORDAN, Wexford, m. MARY GAHAN, Wexford, this is all the National Archives of Quebec have to offer. I do know that MOSES, his wife and family came to Canada in 1832 and located in St. Edouard de Frampton, Lower Canada (now the Prov. of Quebec). The children that I have located to date are JAMES, BRIDGET, PATRICK, MARGARET, CATHERINE, and JOHN. I'm sure there are others. MOSES died in Frampton, July 22, 1847 at 75 yrs of age making his yr. of birth abt 1772. MARY died in Frampton, July 13, 1857 at 78 yrs of age making her yr. of birth abt. 1779. Their son JAMES, m Aug. 7, 1838 to CATHERINE BULGER (her parents were JAMES BULGER/MARGARITE CAVANAH). JAMES died in Frampton, July 21, 1883 at 75 yrs og age making his yr. of birth abt 1808, thus MOSES and MARY probably married abt 1806/07. I have over 300 names on this family from the time they arrived in Canada but always draw a blank when I try to find more info on MOSES/MARY. After arriving in Canada the family married with MURPHYS (Enniscorthy), FiITZGERALDS, CULLENS, BULGERS, KELLYS, BURNS (BYRNES), BRENNEN, MILLER, O'LEARY, WHELAN. The majority of the people who settled this area, east of the Chaudierre River, were Irish RCs. Albert Boisvert albertbo@kos.net

Date: Sat, 02 Sep 2000 20:57:45 GMT Is there any kind soul out there with the Griffiths Valuation CD? I had hoped Father Christmas was going to bring me one last year, but I guess he lost my snail mail address!!! Anyway, is there anyone with access who would be kind enough to check John Cummins County Wexford parish Rathroe location Haggard. Also Bridget Cummins same details. Not having seen the info on the CD I am asuming once the index has been ckecked ( some very kind person did this for me some time ago ) but it was only details as above, and I have a feeling there are more details once you have selected a particular name. At least I am hoping so. The CMC record project (http://www.cmcrp.net )is a collection of databases of births, marriages, death, cemetery, and property records for Ireland. Currently, they cover the counties of Cork, Limerick, Mayo, Tipperary and Waterford. Additionally, we have a GenConnect Ireland surname query board we have just started. Last month it became a sponsored project of the Ireland GenWeb. While just beginning, it hopes to eventually provide some substantial web resources to the Ireland genealogy community on line. This month, through the efforts of Janet Crawford, we are beginning to bring records from Griffith's Index to the Tipperary section. We would welcome you visit, add your ancestors name to our surname query board; or even better, if you have records from these counties to share, to add them to the database. On line screen entry forms are present for each county. Tom Webmaster

Greetings, While doing research on my family and my hometown's history, I found a virtual treasure trove of information concerning the people that populated the city. These people immigrated from all the European Countries. I have started to compile this information and add it to my site in hopes that it will assist other researchers. This is a long term, ongoing project. So far I have about two hundred individual genealogical biographies, pictures and countries of origan. I have a lot more that I am adding daily. If you suspect that an individual from your family immigrated to this area circa 1830ish, please stop by to see if my site has any info. Also stop by periodically to see what new stuff I added. If you are interested to see what McKeesport, Pa looks like, I also have a collection of close to 400 pics of the area. Please feel free to spread the word if you like what I offer and I would love for you to sign my guest book so I can keep you apprised of any additions to the site.
