    3. Bruce I have a lot of research to do yet. When I go to Newfoundland this summer I hope to find out when my GGGrandfather first came over, how and with whom. I have a couple of partial Sinnott/Sinnett family histories written in 1905 and 1910 from Maine and Philadelphia. It gives a broad history of the Sinnott's in Ireland back to 1170. It is quite interesting and I do not know how far back I will get with this. It is interesting to see what you find and you learn some history at the same time. There were no witnesses recorded and they came from Enniscorthy and Oulartleigh - again adjacent to Glenbrien. I didn't see a further wedding of William Graham in Glenbrien. In June 1870, a James Graham was a witness at a wedding of Thomas Dunne and Catherine Furlong. I couldn't find any births or deaths registered in Glenbrien for any Graham. Alan North Wales

    3. This is my first venture into Ireland for Genealogy. I am hoping to gather information on the family of William Graham. this is what I know: William Graham b. abt 1842 Milltown, Enniscorthy, married Ellen Kelly b. abt 1853, Ballydonfin, GlenBrien (sp?) in 1867, St Peter's Church in GlenBrien. Children, born in Milltown, Enniscorthy John 1870 James 1971 Mary 1873 Catherine 1875 Mother Ellen died around 1876, Father William re-married Margaret (Byrne) White nov 29 1876 The children of the first marriage must have been left with relatives as William and Margaret came to Paterson New Jersey. daughter Fannie (Frances) born Paterson, New Jersey 1880. One of the children of the first marriage, James 1871, did end up in America around 1879-1881, but I don't know how he got there or who brought him. He does not show up in a census , as James Graham, until 1910 in Staten Island, New York. Any guidance would be appreciated. David S North Carolina

    1. New to list.......North, Barton, Carton.......families
    2. Hello, I am new to this list and I am looking for my 4th greatfather's birthplace and his wife's for that matter, I would be interested in births if possible. Here is what I got, William Barton born abt. 1800 in Donegal county?, Ireland and died in 1876 in Coshocton county, Ohio, he married Margaret North in Ireland somewhere, she was born abt. 1825 (birthdates can be off a couple of years). she died in 1900 also in Coshocton county, Ohio. I know they went to New York, New York since I did find them on the census in 1870, then came to Ohio between 1870 and 1880. I would like to find who his parents are and possibly a marriage date for him and Margaret. Now Margaret had a sister named Bridget North she married a James Carton and according to her obit it states she was from Wexford, Ireland: MRS. BRIDGET CARTON CLOSES SUNNY LIFE AGED LADY, RICH IN LOVE OF HUMANITY PASSES PEACEFULLY AWAY MONDAY EVENING SHORTLY AFTER EIGHT O'CLOCK DEATH CAME TO MRS. BRIDGET CARTON AFTER AN ILLNESS OF BUT THREE DAYS DURATION, THE SAD FATALITY BEING CAUSED BY A STROKE OF PARALYSIS WHICH SHE SUFFERED EARLY SATURDAY MORNING AND WHICH NEVER PERMITTED HER TO COMPLETELY REGAIN CONSCIOUSNESS. UP TO THE VERY AND HER DEVOTED CHILDREN FOUGHT WITH EVERY AID THAT MEDICAL SCIENCE COULD GIVE THEM TO SAVE HER LIFE BUT EVERY EFFORT WAS IN VAIN AND WEDNESDAY MORNING ALL THAT IS MORTAL OF A MOTHER WHO WAS DEEPLY BELOVED WILL BE LAID TO REST IN OAKRIDGE CEMETERY THE FUNERAL SERVICES BEING CONDUCTED AT 9 O'CLOCK BY REV. CARTON WAS ABOUT "EIGHTY YEARS YOUNG" AT THE TIME OFHER DEATH, FOR HERS WAS A NATURE THAT WOULD NEVER GROW OLD: OF ALL THE PEOLE THAT GO UP AND DOWN MAIN STREET EACH DAY THERE WERE FEW THAT PASSED HER HOME WITHOUT RECIEVING A HEARTY GREETING FROM HER FOR EVERY ONE WAS HER FRIEND. HER LOVE FOR HUMANITY WAS DEEP AND HER CHARITY, ALWAYS GIVEN WITHOUT OSTENTAION, WAS BROAD AND ALL EMBRACING, SHE LEAVES MANY FREINDS. MRS. CARTON WAS BORN IN WEXFORD COUNTY, IRELAND, BUT CAME TO THIS COUNTRY ABOUT 54 YEARS AGO AND FOR 53 YEARS COSHOCTON HAS BEEN HER HOME. HER MAIDEN NAME WAS BRIDGET NORTH AND HER HUSBAND JAMES CARTON WHO PRECEEDED HER TO THE GRAVE MANY YEARS AGO. SEVEN CHILDREN WERE BORN TO THE UNION; TWO LITTLE GRAVES WERE LEFT IN IRELAND WHEN THE FATHER AND MOTHER CAME TO THIS COUNTRY, TWO CHILDREN WERE BURIED HERE AND THE SURVIVING ONES ARE THOMAS CARTON OF THIS CITY, JAMES CARTON; OF GALVESTON, TEXAS AND MRS. ELIZA GILLHOOLEY OF RONCEVERTE, WEST VIRGINIA. MRS. GILLHOOLEY WITH HER DAUGHTER MISS MARGERET AND SON LEO ARRIVED SUNDAY NIGHT BUT MR. JAMES CARTON WAS NOT ABLE TO REACH HER UNTIL AFTER HIS MOTHER'S DEATH. AMONG THE OTHER RELATIVES HERE ARE JOHN CORCORAN AND FAMILY OF BEAVER FALLS, PA., JAMES CARTON, JR., OF NEWCASTLE, PA., JOE GILHOOLEY AND FAMILY OF COLUMBUS, IND., AND JAMES AND THOMAS GILHOOLEY OF RONCERVERTE, WEST VIRGINIA.
