    2. Hi Cara, I have only just come in on this thread. I am looking for my great grandmother's marriage in the Ballycanew/Gorey area. She was MARY CRANWELL/CRANWILL and married WILLIAM CONNORS. They were married somewhere before 1887 when their first child was born. I should not expect that they married much before that date. Are you able to look in Gorey area marriages for me, too, please? 3. Hi I'd just like to say hello to every one on the list and introduce myself. My name is Su Brown and my maternal grandmother was Ellen Whitty born in 1893 in Ballyhack. After years of research and the help of Maura Whitty (Whitty Clan) I have made contact with other members of my branch of the Whitty's. We all descend from one man in Ballyhack in 1749 we believe his name is Adam. The descendants have grouped together and formed a group sharing all our research and information and contacts. We have a large tree which keeps growing but we do have holes which need filling. If any one out there thinks they may have ancestors from the Ballyhack area, please feel free to contact me on or off list. Many thanks and best Wishes Su

    3. I think you could have a problem with the following Kathy: "Not certain, but think that these are parents of Jacob (below): William Simmons (b. about 1780 in Kilmuckridge, Wexford) Mary Ormsby (b.about 1785 in Kilmuckridge, Wexford)" The reason being that the records for Kilmuckridge don't start (on Film) until 1788 for Marriages and 1798 for Baptisms. These are available on Pos. film no. 4258 at the NLI in Dublin or Wexford Library under the RC Parish of Litter (providing they were Catholics). slan Cyril Newosme Loch Garman ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kathy Andrejko" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, May 01, 2006 11:01 PM Subject: [WEX] Re: Simmons Surname in Wexford > Hello, > I've been a subcriber for years now and only put in one inquiry years ago, so I am about to try again in the hopes that someone might be able to help with my search. > I was told my Simmons ancestors came from Wexford, Ireland and migrated to Ontario Canada, where I have found information, but have hit a brick wall with the Ireland end. 3. These marriages are from my first data base in and around the area of Gorey Co Wexford These as you will note are based on Brides surnames, and as REDMOND had been the flavour I have been sorting these into an easier form to post down the list.I have added notes to some as I read them -some had more data than others, but like everything one gives to the list, you yourself should endeavour to check it out wherever possible. 3. Hello, I've been a subcriber for years now and only put in one inquiry years ago, so I am about to try again in the hopes that someone might be able to help with my search. I was told my Simmons ancestors came from Wexford, Ireland and migrated to Ontario Canada, where I have found information, but have hit a brick wall with the Ireland end. Here is what I have: Not certain, but think that these are parents of Jacob (below): William Simmons (b. about 1780 in Kilmuckridge, Wexford) Mary Ormsby (b.about 1785 in Kilmuckridge, Wexford) Jacob Simmons (born abt. 1808 in Wexford, Ireland) Married about 1833 in Kilmuckridge, Wexford to Elizabeth Kinsley or Kinsella (born about 1809 in Kilmuckridge, Wexford (?). Possible records indicate emigrating to Canada in 1871. Have death records from Frontenac, Ontario Canada on both: Jacob died July 8, 1891 Elizabeth died Nov. 14, 1897 They had 3 children: William John Simmons (born Dec. 9, 1841 in Ireland) Records indicate he emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1853; married Catherine Dempster Guild (sister to John) Jane Simmons (born 1846 in Ireland) Died in 1861 of gangrene from a frozen foot (or so I'm told) Rebecca Simmons (born 1852 in Ireland) She married John Guild from Scotland about 1872 in Ontario Canada Records indicate that they emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1871 I have much information on the family in Canada, but would love to find anything concrete about them in Ireland. Any information would be Greatly appreciated! Kathy (Simmons) Andrejko

    3. Is this any good to you Patricia?: Co. Wexford: The Townland of Ardross, consists of 5 acres, in the Barony of Bantry, in the Civil Parish of St. Mary's in the New Ross PLU. Parish Records: Marriages from 1789 with a few breaks in them, Baptisms from 1859 and Deaths from 1794 on film no. 4259 and no. 4260 at The NLI or Wexford Library. Older versions of the records (originals) might still be held in the local custody of the Priest. The Townland of Camlin, consists of 578 acres, in the Barony of Bantry, Civil Parish OLD ROSS, in the New Ross PLU. Parish Records: Baptisms from Jan. 1759, Marriages from 1752 and Burials from 1794 held on film no. 4259 at the NLI possibly Wexford Library (I've not done much research in the Old Ross area). Co. Kilkenny: The Townland of Sandpits, consists of 158 Acres, in the Barony of Iverk, Civil Parish of Fiddown, in the PLU of Carrick-on-Suir. By the time of Griffiths' Valuation, the only SHAW showing in the Civil Parish of Fiddown was a John SHAW living in the Townland of Templeorum, consisting of 252 acres, other details as above. Both the Townlands of Sandpits and Templeorum come under the RC Parish of Fiddown also but it's possible you would need the records for Mooncoin as Fiddown Records come under this as the main RC Parish. Parish records: Carrigeen and Mooncoin. Baptisms from 1779, Marriages from 1772 but no Burials. On film no. 5018 at the NLI excluding those held in local custody by the Priests. slan Cyril Newsome Loch Garman... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marion McDonald" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, April 28, 2006 10:37 PM Subject: Re: [WEX] Burial in Wexford > I am always interested in checking the info I have. 3. Hi All, Many of the same names as listed below ended up in the area south of Quebec City , Quebec, Canada. Frampton, St. Marguerites, St. Claire. The Murphys were one of the first and the date noted herein fits quite well. Evoy, Stafford were also there as were our Jordans, although I believe they came about the late 1820s. Try the website, www.framptonirish.com it is very thorough for that area.
