    1. FITZPATRICK/MITTON
    2. I was wondering if there are any descendants of the FITZPATRICK or MITTON families from County Wexford. No known townlands but family lore says Gorey area. Nicholas Fitzpatrick wed Ellen Mitton/Mitten/Mynton etc probably in the 1830s and had a large family. Some of the children emigrated to St Louis in the 1850s. One daughter Catherine became a nun in St Charles, MO. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who might be related.... Patti Meyers Westmont, IL

    3. Margaret: Just wondering if there is a connection...I have a Bridget Redmond born in Wexford. She married a John Doyle and they moved to Canada. Do not know much else about her, and was thinking that she could be a sister of your Ellen or Helen Redmond. Is there a possibility? Thanks and good luck. 3. For what it's worth, two Wexford townlands that bear a resemblance to "burra Burra" are 1. Brocurrow in the civil and R.C. parishes of Adamstown 2. Corramacorra in the civil parish of Kildavin, R.C. parish of Piercestown. The nearest resemblance is BrĂș BorĂș, the name of the Heritage/Genealogical centre for Tipperary South, located at Cashel. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cyril Newsome" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 19, 2006 3:54 PM Subject: Re: [WEX] Bill STAFFORD contact me > The nearest you are going to get to this one Jim (and Peter) is The Burrow > (Ballyteigue Bay) which runs from Kilmore to The Cull in Duncormick. 1. Wexford/Wicklow researcher needed
    2. I am looking for someone familiar with the Wexford/Wicklow area who can do a reasonable search for family connections. I have had some research done in Wicklow with no answers and now have a clue that the family may have been in Wexford at one time. Family lore has the Roe/Keely/Ireland families around Enniskerry, County Wicklow. I have had a researcher look in the area but found nothing. The families are Anglican and not Catholic. John Roe m. Mary Ann Keeley/Kealy most likely in the late 1830's. Mary Ann had known sisters, Bridget and Julia. Somehow a Frederick W Ireland and his sister Emily Frances Ireland are connected and listed as "cousins". It seems that Julia and Bridget Keeley immigrated to the Boston MA area about 1850's before the Roes leave for Canada. John is in the Pembroke ON area and is on the 1861 census in Alice Twp ON. Mary Ann and the children(born approximately between 1840 - 1856), Robert, Nicholas, John, Julia, Elizabeth, and Edward first appear on the 1871 census in Alice Twp. John Roe is a farmer and owns land in Alice in 1861 until his death. He may have gone to Canada before the family. The recent connection to Wexford is found on John Jr's marriage registration where place of birth is listed as Wexford Ireland. Julia Keeley married a Portugese sailor, Antonio Jospephs, in MA but when their son becomes a Dr. the family moves to the Pembroke ON area. In the late 1880's, Frederick and Emily Ireland pass through NY port and are on the census with the Jospephs in Pembroke 1891. Frederick and Emily then go to NY for medical training but both end up later in Pembroke to their deaths. My guess is that the Ireland's mother may have been a Keeley. I have found the spelling of Kealy both ways on various documents. It seems that this Roe family stayed intact and as a family left Ireland for Canada. There must be some church records for the births of the children and a location they actually lived. These three family names are connected beginning in Ireland. Since Wexford and Wicklow border, maybe they were in that border area. Is there a researcher in the area who could work on this family for a reasonable amount? 3. Dear List, I have posted this name before with no luck, so thought i would try again. My gg grandmother was Esther Hall born Enniscorthy circa 1825. I don't have her birth certificate or church records. I found this info on shipping arrivals for Port Jackson Australia. ship was Columbine left Liverpool 20 8 1841 arrived Australia 4 12 1841 Esther was 16, in the care of brother Matthew 21. Sister Anne also arrived with them she was 15. Esther was a house servant. Parents were Alexander and Elizabeth (dead). On Esther's death certificate it says her father was a gunsmith. Are there any records of gunsmiths in Ireland? I think Esther was catholic. How would i go about finding catholic church records for her birth, birth of siblings and parents marriage etc? I have tried the IGI with no luck. Any advise welcome. Sandra in Australia.
