Annette, Thank you for your email. It is always great to communicate with another Westall family member. All told I have something over 25,000 in my Westall data base. The 25,000 is made up of what I call Westall family groups. The largest is my immediate family of 13,000+. Another is what I call Westall of Norwich & USA. That is the family Richard and Thomas George Westall are a part of. I have stood at the foot of Thomas' grave in Castries, St. Lucia. In order for me to be of any assistance I will need to know exactly what you have. For example dates, places, names etc. From that I can try to help you. Basically, Thomas George Westall (b ca. July 1853 d 14 Nov 1938) and Caroline Agatha Hutchinson (b ca 1863 d 16 May 1929) had 6 children that I am aware of. Charles Westall b 08 Apr 1888, Grenada, British West Indies, Mary "Pearl" Elizabeth Westall b 27 May 1893 I believe in St. Lucia Mary Josephine "Ruby" Westall b 10 Dec 1894 John Hampton "Jack" Westall, Sr. b 04 Apr 1898, Castries, St. Lucia, BWI Robertina Agatha Westall b 12 Apr 1900, Castries, St. Lucia, BWI Robert Westall b 24 Apr 1901 I have quite a bit on Charles and John Hampton but nothing on Robert? I look for ward to your email with interest and I will do whatever I can to assist your search. Let me explain - My Mother was a Westall, born in St Johns, New Brunswick. She was orphaned by her Mother and adopted by someone who brought her over to England where, in time, she married and produced my sister and me. I have bits of a very fractured family history and know that one of her relatives was Thomas George Westall, late of St Lucia, a prominent business man who was awarded an almost State funeral - I have a copy of the Obituary from The Crusader, St Lucia which advises that he died "at 2pm on Monday at the age of 84 after a short illness of 4 weeks" but fails to advise date and year. Richard tells me that you have done a lot of work in piecing together the family history and I wondered if you could help me out in my quest as I try and piece together my Mothers' history. Unfortunately she only found relatives in Canada a few years before she died, but she met two sisters who tried to fill in some gaps in her knowledge. Curiously the sisters had different versions of how my Mother came to be orphaned - seems like a case of a Mother who had too many children and just didn't know what to do with them - but I am now trying to flesh out the information. I have joined a local family history club and am concentrating on the Westalls and so any help with this would be much appreciated. Best wishes (from a possible relative) Annette _________________________________________________________________ Windows LiveT Messenger has arrived.
