Charles Westall was my GGG Grandfather through my mother Mary Stone, her father William Stone, his mother Mary Ann Westall and her father Henry Westall who was Charles' 2nd son. Thanks, Gill Ford It's mainly of interest to you because William Wastell b. 1789 has been considered by some to come from the Berkshire Westalls, because his widow Agatha Whalley Wastell is living next door to John Wastell, FRCS in Cookham, Berks in 1881. This is the reason I worked on the Hungerford/Cookham Westalls. I have sent you that chart, which Fred Westall says accords with his findings. I have pretty much proved that my William Wastell couldn't have come from that family (because of date of birth issues. There are two William Westalls he could have been (1. b. 1788, date fits, but he married someone else; and 2. b. 1797, don't know his history. The second William Westall, b. 1797 does not appear in the censuses, which made a good case for him being William Wastell until I found the death notice in the Times (1836-7), which stated William Wastell was aged 47 at time of death. So you may have no interest. I also looked at Richard and William Westall, the artists from Norwich (William came to Australia on the Independent as a ship's artist). William's son lived in the same area of London (St. Clement Dane) as William Wastell, but I could find no relationship there either (three of William Wastell's sons came to Australia, so I was wondering about the travel genes).
