Eileen, This really does get more confusing as the George Westall (b Bet. Jan - Mar 1841) that married Mary Woolford (Bet. Oct - Dec 1862) was the son of William Westall and his wife Sarah nee Pounds. There is another George Westall b Bet. Jan - Mar 1840 in Wiltshire also. The 2nd George Westall was the son of John Newman Westall. The difference is age is so close that it complicates figuring out who belongs to whom I believe? I agree that the George Westall b 1854 is the son of George Westall b 1806. Yes I also believe that it looks like he married Martha Ann Pike b Bet. Apr - Jun 1859 and they had a son by the name of William Westall born in either Oct - Dec 1876 or 1877. If his birth was 1876 his name was William George Westall. As far as George and Martha's neighbors are concerned I agree that they may be related to the Newman and Pike families I have in the data base but I am not sure of the connection and frankly that priority is a low one. You mentioned earlier that John Newman Westall had 11 children I believe. I have come up with only George b Bet. Jan - Mar 1840, Charles b Bet. Oct - Dec 1842, William b Bet. Jan - Mar 1848, Sarah Elizabeth b Bet. Oct - Dec 1851, Eliza Ann b Bet. Jul - Sep 1854, Stephen b Bet. Jan - Mar 1857, and John b Bet. Jul - Sep 1859. Do you have these also and which ones am I missing? Great work Eileen. Genealogy reminds me of trying to eat a soup sandwich! It can get a little messy if you know what I mean. In the 1881 census he has a wife named Mary and theywere living in the High Street Ramsbury. I haven't come across any Woolfords as yet. And another George Westall b 1854, youngest son of George Westall [b Ramsbury 1806] and Elizabeth Spanswick [b 1809]. He married Martha Ann Pike on 26 Aug 1876. In the 1881 census there was one son named William. They were living in White House Lane Ramsbury. Next door to them were Charlotte Pike A widow age 49 b Wilton. and three sons, Matthias 12, William D, 9 and James 7. Also living in White House lane at that time were Thomas Newman age 64 and his wife Louisa age 61. Could this be Thomas Newman and Sara Westall's first legitimate son? in the other censuses you sent it is certainly the right Thomas Newman and the family. In the 1851 census I have sisters Jane 1824 and Sarah 1835 I have George Westall married to Mary Woolford 8 Nov 1862 but don't know if that is the one you have as it doesn't tell me of his parents. Sorry this is a bit disjointed but I have had several interruptions and lost my track.. Will go over things again later. Hope this all doesn't add to the confusion. Kind regards Eileen.
