Thanks for the information Bob, Thus far I can't find a connection between the East Ilsley group and the others based around Aldbourne and Ramsbury. The names you mention seem to be mostly from one family line (from IGI): Gen 1. Thomas Westall (b. 1679, East Ilsley m. Ann) to Gen 2. William Westall (b.1679, m. Elizabeth Brooker 1733) to Gen 3. Daniel Westall (b.1735, m. Johanna Curtis 1758) to Gen 4. William Westall (b.1775, m. Elizabeth Lambourn 1796) to Gen 5. Joseph Westall (b.1802, m. Hannah Josey 1821 Aldworth) & Thomas Westall (b.1798, m. Harriet Adnams 1822). Maybe if we can find a way back a further two or three generations from Thomas (1679) we'll find the common ancestor for all the Berkshire Westall's. Or maybe not!
