A quick reminder of my Westall interests. My 3G grandfather, Thomas Westall was born c 1804 - 1807 in Reading, Berkshire. His son Thomas John Westall was born 2 May 1833, baptised 19 Apr 1934, St Giles, London. Information provided by Mick Westall is that Thomas snrs wife was Maria Franklin, but I have been unable to find any confirmation of this. Pallot's marriage index gives a Thomas Westall/Maria Burden marriage in 1831, IGI gives the same marriage on 30 Oct 1831, Saint Anne Soho, Westminster. I have full census information for this family, with the exception of 1841 census, was hoping to find a sibling or two for Thomas jnr. 1851 census Thomas Westall, Head, Widr, M, 45, Shoemaker, Berks, Reading Thomas Westall, Son, M, 17, Printer, Middx, St Giles Edmund Franklin, Nephew, Widr, M, 21, Shoemaker, Middx, St Giles Address 56, Dudley Street, St Giles in the Fields, Finsbury HO 107/1509 Folio 389 p12 Edmund Franklin possibly as follows in 1841 census, though the age is not right it's the nearest match! - William Franklin, M, 50, Painter I, N Ann Franklin, F, 40, N Ann Franklin, F, 15, N Edmund Franklin, M, 7, N Emma Franklin, F, 4, N Francis Franklin, M, 2, N Address City (?) Gardens, St Mary's Islington, Finsbury HO 107/664/2 Folio 18 p2 I cannot trace this family in 1851 census as a whole, no idea of where any of them were born, and cannot directly link them to Thomas Westall and his nephew Edmund Franklin in 1861 census. I am wondering if Thomas snr had a sister Ann Westall who married William Franklin? Can anyone help me with the 1841 missing census or the Franklin/Burden conundrum? Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and a Merry new Year Margaret _________________________________________________________________ Be the first to hear what's new at MSN - sign up to our free newsletters! http://www.msn.co.uk/newsletters
