    3. Hi Julie I discovered there was a grandson Charles in the household in 1901 aged 3 ......... Any idea of the age of the supposed 'Charles' who died 1944? Would a UK criminal conviction have been sufficient incentive to change a name and personal details for entry down under in the 20th Century? However the name that Alma put down for herself was Amy Miller born in England and she entered her parents firstnames correctly but she used Miller her married name as the surname of her parents James Kershaw and Mary Ann March. Obviously this was a red herring to conceal her identity seeing as she was still married to my Great Grandad Anthony Jacob Miller. It is all interesting because I have found this death entry on Queensland BDM that may be Charles 1944/3984 Charles Westall Father James Mother Edith Head It very well could be him as the mothers name is listed as Edith HEAD Now that Dorothy has found Edith's surname as HEAD I wouldn't be surprised if Charles also sent out a red herring too in his details on the marriage certificate and used ALLEN as his mother's surname. I have proven that the marriage certificate is theirs so I know for sure that the information it contained was not entirely correct. I don't know what would have taken him from near Sydney up to QLD but there is/are no other Charles Westall's that could be him. I wonder if he remarried? I appreciate the census details Bob I am still digesting the info they contain and am also grateful to Dorothy for the marriage details for James and Edith - cheers for now Julie
