    2. if you're in Ancestry, you go to the sidebar where the record was transcribed. there's several choices, the one you want is "add alternate information. within that there is a drop down file that includes transcription error, and make the corrections there. if you're using another website, you'll have to ask them. are you aware that Bussingham is a variation of Bossingham? my husband descends from Bossinghams of Lincolnshire. I don't know if they have Yorkshire connections. best, Cornelia On 24.03.2012 00:01, west-riding-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Today's Topics: > > 1. 3. Ancestry and the Add Alternate Information does allow for something different to be added where you believe a transcription error has been made but in this case that won't serve. Ancestry have transcribed Amy Bussingham along with her two brothers and both parents. In my opinion Ancestry have transcribed the entry correctly. They have included everyone shown on the page and have left it to researchers to do the work to sort out the error made back in 1911, and what happened to Amy Bussingham, for themselves, as Annette has been doing. It seems to be findmypast, from what I have found by looking at that site, where the problem lies with the transcribing of Amy, or rather not transcribing her name.
