(have cert)Married 3 May 1907 Rotherham Register Office (have cert)He was 29 occupation Steam Crane Driver, living at 21 Herbert Terrace, Rawmarsh. His father was listed as Samuel Thomas WATSON - occupation: Skin DealerShe was 24, same address (tut tut). Her father Edward Foster, File Cutter Robert marries a second time: (have cert)m: 07 March 1916Robert James Watson, 38, Widower, Mechanic at munitions works, living at 142 St Anns Road, Rotherham. Fathers name John WATSON, occ Skin DresserElizabeth TAGGART, 27, Spinster Rose & Crown Inn, Mount Vernon, Barnsley. Father Francis TAGGART. occ Steel Worker The names on the two marriage certificates of Robert James father differ so I double checked with the issuing offices and the confirmed that they were correct. I have photographs written on by my Grandfather saying he was shown at work in Chickerell Road, Surrey and dated 1959 and a postcard from my father to my late sister saying he visited Grandie (his father) in 1959. 1911 Cenus entry: (have copy of original census entry)Robert James Watson Head 34 Married Steam Motor Lorry Driver Tramway Worker Ely CambridgeshireMartha Elizabeth Olive Watson Wife 27 Married Yorks ParkgateRobert John Watson Son 2 Yorks Masborough Postal address 38 Charlton Terrace, Rawmarsh. I knew my father had a step-brother called Harry: Found this birth entry for him Henry Taggart WATSONSept 1/4 1917Rotherham DistrictVolume 9cPage 1236 I have been unable to definitely identify Robert James on ANY census except the 1911 with either Samuel or John as his father. I have been unable to find any male called Samuel Thomas or John that would be an acceptable match for RJs father.I have absolutely no clue as to RJs parents names - they were never mentioned to my knowledge by my father. The closest birth entry I have been able to find for Robert James is Dec 1872, St Ives district, Vol 3b page 285. I have not yet sent for this certificate so cannot confirm or deny. Any help with this would be much appreciated as I would love to be able to move backwards with this line and maybe even forwards and discover descendants of Harry's.
