    3. Hello to all I'm new to your list. I live in NSW Australia and have been tracing my family in England for a number of months. I have just discovered that my g g grandfather was christened in 1823 at St Patricks Catholic Church York St Leeds. My g g g grandparents were Irish born (according to Census). My g g g grandfather fought in the Peninsular War until 1814. The next record I can find is the christening of his first child in 1821. I don't know why he was in England....trying to find his war records to see if this sheds some light on his movements Somewhere in there he was married- I'm guessing around 1820. Are there any marriage records for this period ? I don't know if he married in England.....clutching at straws really. The names I'm looking for are; David Lynch 16 April 1794; Eleanor Francis ?? 1798. Their children were Ellenor Lynch 1821–1851 David George Lynch 1823–( MY G G Grandfather) Elizabeth R Lynch 1824–1872 Patrick Lynch 1826–1882 Thomas Lynch 1826–1867 John Hastings Lynch 1830–1880 Andrew Lynch 1835–1893 All the children but Andrew were christened in Leeds. Eleanor is sometimes recorded as Helen. Can someone point me towards records for catholic marriages in the area? I appreciate any help given Terese NSW Australia
