Hi Can anyone with access help me read this Yorkshire place name transcribed as Nobbary. 1851 Wigan lancs census. Its meant to say Mary Battersby. All other census returns have her born in Wigan but Im thinking this could be a clue. Her maiden name was Horrocks and 2 of my Wigan Horrocks declare birth place to be Yorkshire in 1 census only. Ann Horrocks circa 1823 says Leeds and William circa 1821 says N/K Yorkshire. Its a mystery.
