To be honest I do not think I can go further back on my Firth line.So many John Firths.I have a possible one...but , I cannot be sure.It is at this point one needs to tred carefully and see the actual records for clues. My Alford line had so many Johns and Williams, that I eventually ended up collecting all Alfords ,then sorting out the various lines back to 1576.Fortunately I could do this on my own doorstep. How lucky you are to have an unusual name, fortunately for me, my later Firth added Hector as a middle name, and I have recently found that after spending 50 years in India, he returned to Yorkshire to end his days.I have sent for his death certificate, but, oh joy and gladness, the postmen have now decided to go on strike.!! happy hunting, Annabelle.
