I have just discovered that my 2nd great grandfather, Robert MILLER married an Elizabeth TERRY at Pontefract in 1853. Robert is described as age 29, a timekeeper of Knottingley on his marriage certificate, the son of Robert Miller, farmer. Elizabeth is a spinster, aged 20, of Hensall, the daughter of John Terry, farmer. Witnesses were Joseph Tasker and Alice Terry (I believe this to be her mother). I wonder if anybody else connects with this family. I am particularly interested in where Robert was in the 1851 census. Kind regards, Paul Manning Glastonbury, Somerset Hello Paul, sorry, not related to my family. (Mine are MILNER) I can tell you ROBERT or his father ROBERT were not in Knottingley or surrounding towns or villages (Pontefract, Castleford etc) in 1851 I have copy of what Pontefract FHS have transcribed & they are not listed. _www.pontefractfhs.org.uk_ (http://www.pontefractfhs.org.uk) There are some MILLER families as well as some TERRY families. Maybe he was in Hensall where he met his bride-to-be? good luck, hope someone can locate him from Ancestry for you, Maureen _http://www.yorkshirevisitor.com/exec/150514/14870/_ (http://yorkshirevisitor.com/exec/150514/14870/) _http://www.pontefractliquoricefestival.co.uk/_ (http://www.pontefractliquoricefestival.co.uk/) _www.pontefractus.co.uk_ (http://www.pontefractus.co.uk/)
