You can search the Ancestry BMD electronically. Go first to advanced search and enter as many details as you know. At the bottom you will be asked to choose which categories to search. Under historical records check Birth, Marriage, Death and then search. I have retrieved the details of my brother's death in 2000 so it is pretty up to date - though maybe not all counties are complete. Valerie
