Hi My 3xGgrandmother was Dinah ALLEN (nee MADDOX) and I've just found that she died in Sheffield in 1873 (she was on the latest BMD updates) I know they lived at 58 Carlisle Street East, Brightside, Sheffield in 1871 - does anyone have any suggestions where she might be buried? In the 1881 census there is a Joseph LUNN born about 1839 in Staleybridge, Lancashire living at 247 Scar Wood Terrace, Golcar. In 1891, I find him in the Infirmary, haven't yet located the rest of his family but I believe his wife died in 1888 I also think she was Mary Ann DYSON who he married in 1860. In the 1901 census he is living in Longwood with his son Dyson, and son Joe, daughter Frances and Florence (ENTWISTLE). In 1851 he is living at Road Side (I think Linthwaite or Slaithwaite) and Richard LUNN is listed as father. Mother is listed as Charlotte (although I am wondering if she is a second wife). Each time Joseph lists place of birth as Staleybridge, Lancashire. I haven't been able to discover him in 1841 census or in 1861 or 1871 so far. If anyone wants a challenge and cares to hunt with me (I have a subscription to Ancestry.) I would appreciate this. I suppose I could send for a birth certificate and might eventually but at the moment I can't find the details for that either. Jean in S.Australia.
