Hi, thank you for that trouble, I did manage to discover the 1861 entry and noticed the 2 instead of 22. Thank goodness for access to the originals. They married according to Free BDM 1860 so this is obviously before their first child. Their daughter Edith is my connection she married John Schofield, my father's grandparents. Edith and John had a daughter Annie who married into our Wood line which is why I haven't followed up on them much. My dad is still alive so I keep trying to jog his memory but his mother died when he was 8. I can't recollect why I don't think Richard is actually his father. I found in the Slaithwaite baptism John Lunn 16th Dec 1832 presumably father Richard. 5th June 1836 James. So according to my earlier records. I have John 1832, James 1836 and Joseph 1838. So it looks more like Charlotte could be a second wife. One of the reasons I am not sure of Richard as really being a father is that Joseph didn't name any of his children Richard. Dyson is clearly after his wife who I am sure was Mary Ann DYSON. Admittedly he only had 2 sons the rest were girls. He named the other one Joe. There seems to be a connection between the slaithwaite LUNN's and Staleybridge. I am sure it is work related. I hadn't thought to look under Dunn. Maybe that is an option for the 1841 census. I didn't find anything in BDM for Joseph LUNN, although he might be on the Cheshire list. It looks like a birth certificate might be necessary for further knowledge although I am wary of birth certificates because it is easy to get the wrong one if all you have to go on is the name so I like to explore other options.
