Hi I'm looking for the family of James SPEIGHT who is thought to have been born in Wakefield about 1834 to parents John & Eliza SPEIGHT. Siblings of James may have been Vincent, Sarah Ann & Eleanor/Elinor. I can't find them on the 1851 census. James SPEIGHT married Mary Jane JENKINSON in 1859 (GRO 1859 Sep Qt York 9d 96). Between that time and the spring of 1861, when they left for New Zealand, they are thought to have had 2 children (Emma - 1860 Dec Qt Bradford Yk 9d ??) and one other. James SPEIGHT founded a well known brewery here. We would like to know where they lived in the Bradford area and if their home still exists. If anyone has any connection with, or knows anything about this family's history, we would love to hear from you. Mabel in NZ
