Dear Rosemary I am sure you are right, I too remember when they first started and asked people to submit their records but I would have thought that they would also turn up on the FreeBMD site. It just seemed strange that the records I found were attributed to FreeBMD but that they weren't on their own site. I'm not complaining though, it saved many hours of trawling through the death records for many years when one hasn't a clue when to start looking. BTW Are you the Rosemary with whom I had contact a few years back re - ACKROYDS and you sent me the Woolcombers Report? If so, I have lots more info on the ACKROYDS which may or may not connect somewhere with yours. I am having to work on my husband's computer at the moment as mine is away for repair and looks like I am going to have to have a new one. As soon as I get back to my own I will send you what I have for you to look through. You never know! Kind regards Judith Rosemary Ackroyd <rsackroyd@bigpond.com> wrote: Hi Judith I feel pretty sure that Ancestry just 'gateway' the FreeBMD records. I've had similar instances where entries appear to show up on Ancestry but not FreeBMD, but it has always turned out to be a quirk in the way the search has worked. I remember that in the early days of FreeBMD, they asked people to submit records from their research. I came across a record from the 1940s in a search a few days ago & assumed it was from that category. Could be wrong tho'! Rosemary -- Internal Virus Database is out-of-date.
