Hi I have been trying to find information about Jane Laycock born about 1803 in the Kildwick area. She had two illegitimate children to a Thomas Smith. Jane appears to have died in 1833 as in the Kildwick burials index, there is a Jane Laycock age 30 years, burried on 5 May 1833. If anyone comes across or is related to this mystery woman I would be very interested to hear from them. Her Children where Hannah Laycock born abt 1829 and Ambrose Laycock born abt 1829. Ambrose married and had a young son then seems to have left his wife and son and relocated to Victoria in Australia. He seems to have kept in touched with his son and wife in Yorkshire and remarried (in Australia) when his wife Ann (in Yorkshire ) died .
