    3. Hi, I like the search engine the Free BMD uses better than the one from Ancestry but Ancestry does have more data available. 3. I am trying to trace a family in London, and having trouble getting clear explanations on the London list. I was told there that bmd records between 1900 and 1983 are available at ancestry.com, but not electronically searchable. They are available as scans of individual pages that one must search through. Seemingly they are organized in such a way that one can find the right page in the right district or whatever to search for each year. But I can't find how to access tehm on the ancestry.com site. Can someone please tell me where to find them. Thanks! 3. They work fine. But I specifically need to know how to get to the scans of indexes from 1900 to 1983. 3. Hi Dora Go to http://www.ancestry.co.uk/ Under the search box is a link Go directly to UK Birth, Marriage and Death records This takes you to a page with 3 options 1.Complete BMD Index ranges & Images 1837-1983 where you can choose Birth, Deaths or Marriages, select the one you want, type in the name and year (you can choose +/- 20 years), this then bring up links to all the pages that should contain the name you require. (if you don't have an account you have to fill in your email address and name, no subscription required) 2. Partial FreeBMD Indexes & Images 1837-1983 Records as on Free BMD 3. Complete BMD Indexes 1984-2005 Computerised index of BMD's, no images were produced all details are on computer database. Hope this helps. 3. Hi Dora, I am just on my way out and haven't time to look any further but I do have the following URL http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?gl=&gst=&rank=0&f6=Elizabeth&f5=reed&f2__isodate=&rg_f1__date=1935&rs_f1__date=10&ors=1&db=onsmarriages&ti=0&ti.si=0&gss=angs-d&hc=50&fh=50&fsk=CIAAIwUABTJL This takes me to the Marriage Index. I did play around on the site and found the birth ones but can't remember how at the moment. I learned that this isn't the total list but rather the beginning and ending names on the page. Hope this is of some help.
