Regards, Gail Thanks to everyone who responded to my question regarding John DEMAIN--the advice helped me map out my next research steps. I now have a list of batch numbers, for which I will request source copies from my local LDS center. Hopefully this will help me decide which John DEMAIN -- the one born in 1809 or the one born in 1811 -- is the correct one. This will tell whether the George who married Hannah MOON or the George who married Ellen HOLMES is my 4x grandfather. I did check the census records, hoping to isolate the appropriate John DEMAIN, only to find the in two of the four censuses in which he appears with other known family members, his DOB is 1809 and in the other two it is 1811 -- not much help unfortunately.
