Can I draw listers' attention to the next meeting of the above Society to be held on Tuesday next, the 21st August? Mr. John Goodchild of the Local History Study Centre, Drury Lane, Wakefield, has kindly agreed to come and talk to us about how to use newspapers in the pursuit of our family history. The meeting will be open to members and non-members alike, entrance free, and will be held at our usual venue, the St. Paul's Church Hall, off Greenfoot Lane, Barnsley (near to the Barnsley District General Hospital), commencing at 7.30 pm (doors open at 7 pm). If you require travel directions, I will be only too pleased to provide them. Why not come along and join us on what should be a very interesting evening.
