Hello Listers If sks could please tell me where to look for a Quaker Birth Index? The IGI only has different guesses that people have submitted but no actual Batch No's or Source Call No's. Edward Casson ROWNTREE b. 1811 Thorne Yorkshire my Gt Gt Grandfather The only question I can think to ask if there is an Index for the Quakers Are they held in Yorkshire or in London? I am looking for a copy of the birth date register as well as the full reference. I am not familiar with Quaker records but do have knowledge of Parish records that can be accessed through the LDS. Hi Barbara, Civil Registration started in England July 1st 1837. So therefore NO birth certificates prior to that. You will have to trace Edward via the baptismal records for this family exactly as you did with the Church of England records that you are familiar with. (LDS). If you check with GENUKI for Yorkshire and then "Where is it" for Thorn it should tell you where the registers were deposited. Good luck. Elaine in Ottawa.
