With the Christmas Festive period coming up soon and all the interest in Yorkshire dialect etc. it may be worth taking a look at www.yorkshire-dialect.org/ This site was created by Kevin Wilde (the son of the late Len Wilde a featured author). One of his poems was entitled Tracing t'Family History which we produced in a mouse mat see www.familytreefolk.co.uk/page_10958.html. Other amusing poems by Len Wilde and a vast number of authors can be found on Kevin's site that will appeal to anyone interested in Yorkshire dialect. This Yorkshire dialect genealogy Mouse mat was launched as a special for the Yorkshire Family History Fair on June 30th 2007. The poem was written by Len Wilde of Ossett who died in 1996 aged 86 and who was a keen genealogist himself. He did a lot of valuable work transcribing the local census returns ready for computer acceptance. This is our thanks from all the genealogists out there and a further tribute to his lasting memory. Permission has been given to Family Tree Folk to publish by his son, Kevin and other amusing poems by Len Wilde and a vast number of authors can be found that will appeal to anyone interested in Yorkshire dialect. Take a look and enjoy!
