    3. Dear list Does anyone have any insight or experience of researching someone transported as a convict? Are there such things as "passenger" lists for the ships used? Were they transported back to England after serving their time? I'm interested in John PILLEY, barrel maker of Anston, Yorkshire who appears to have been sentenced in 1732 at East Retford to be transported for 7 years to "some of his Majesty's Colonys or Plantations in America." Any pointers would be gratefully received. Andy Walsh (Sheffield UK)
