    1. Re: [WRY] Marriage of John HALL, circa 1850?
    2. Hi....a couple to consider found on FreeBMD: September Qtr. 1848 JOHN HALL & MARY ANN WALLER Registered at Sheffield 22 479 December Qtr. 1848 JOHN HALL & MARY ANN PLATTS Registered at Rotherham 22 574 mary lou John was born about 1826, and on different censuses variously gave his birthplace as: Grenoside; Hill Top; Ecclesfield; Bradfield (all Sheffield area) On the 1851 and subsequent censuses however he was living in Rawmarsh, and was listed as married to Mary Ann (maiden name unknown). Mary Ann was born in Wentworth. Or possibly Thorpe! (depending on which census you look at). On the 1851 census she is listed as 18 years of age. (presumed year of birth 1833). I have been unable to locate the marriage of John and Mary Ann via the usual trawling on Ancestry. I have even scoured the 1841 census for Wentworth looking for a Mary or Mary Ann that would fit the criteria, but no luck. Any ideas before I splash out money on a birth certificate for one of his children? (I'm notoriously tight-fisted -- must be my Yorkshire heritage) All replies gratefully received, David Delta BC Canada ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to WEST-RIDING-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products.
