Hi everyone I'm looking for orphanage records for the Huddersfield area open in 1918/19. I am looking for LEWIS children, Benjamin aged 6 and his sister Gertrude aged about 8. Their parents were Thomas who died in Huddersfield c1914 and Edith (nee Milnes) who died c1918. Benjamin's daughter thinks Gertrude went to live in Nottingham area for a while then returned to live in Huddersfield. Benjamin seems to have remained in Huddersfield where he married. He died in 1947. Gertrude married quite late in life but no record of her marriage has been found yet. The only place I can think of where they may have been taken is St Luke's. Does anyone know where to look for records of orphans please? Thanks Jean Belfitt
