It's like asking "Are there any Smiths out there?", although the name Pearson admittedly isn't quite as common as Smith, though it is relatively common. However, it seems to me slightly daft to pose a query in such a vague and general way, then have lots of listers replying with their Pearsons, only to be told in the great majority of cases probably that the OP isn't interested in them! When posting queries asking for contact from those interested in a particular surname, you should always be SPECIFIC, i.e., which family are you interested in?; what were their full names?; where did they live and when? The key to garnering information that is going to be of help is to give some information as to what you know and what you have already researched and discovered. Otherwise, you may just be wasting people's time and bandwidth. Here's how the query should have been phrased (hypothetical data, of course): "I am interested in John PEARSON, a greengrocer in Leeds from about 1860 onwards. He married Maisie Snodgrass at Leeds Parish Church in 1859 and they had seven children, who were called.....etc. Does anyone else connect to this family?" THAT is the way to pose a proper query and expect sensible replies. -- Roy Stockdill Editor, Journal of One-Name Studies Guild of One-Name Studies website: www.one-name.org Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
