Thanks for that, Mary... ...."my" Mary always seemed to give her name as "Mary Ann". However, would you know where "Lees Moor(e?)" was relative to Upperthong? Cheers Alan
Hello Alan. I am sorry I have no idea where that is bcause like you I live in Australia. If you do a google search it may tuen up. Mary ann may have just been Mary when she was christened then Ann may have been added later. I had a Mary Ann who turned into an Elizabeth later in life. G'day Alan, Perhaps the Lees Moor is this: Lees Moor *Location* Lees Moor is a quite a large traditional council estate popular with families. It is located in the Thornhill Lees area of Dewsbury with the canal running the length of the estate. It is approximately 2 - 3 miles from Dewsbury town centre or a 5 to 10 minute drive. *Transport* Lees Moor Estate can be reached on a variety of buses, 281, 282 and 283, all of which run from Dewsbury town centre every 10 minutes. The buses then travel onwards to the Batley Showcase Cinema, the White Rose Centre and Leeds.
