    3. Henry Raistrick was born in 1884 in Bradford, he was married to Annie Elizabeth Tetley. They had their daughter in 1909 in Bradford. They were married in Bradford on the 20th June 1908. They lived on Silk St in Manningham for a number of years, however when Annie Elizabeth died, Henry then had a new partner (wife?) and produced a son. My mother in law had a photograph of this half brother. She left Bradford when she was old enough and came to Manchester and attended Elysian St School. ( not yet proven) She was married from Openshaw and married at St Barnabas. I have found another member of the Raistrick family marrying at St Barnabas, he was Herbert E Raistrick and the date was 1899.I am trying to connect these people but as yet have been unsuccessful. I believe the names Jonas, Henry, Robert, William, Beatrice,Clifford,Charles, Alfred, Nellie may be connected. Rhoda was another name that featured. Rhoda was the name of the young Raistrick who came to Manchester and married my father in law. I am unlucky as my mother in law was reluctant to talk about her early life and I should really have pursued the subject as now none of her children know much about her early life or indeed their relatives. I know that her grandparents were Henry born 1846 Bradford and Elizabeth born 1848 in Shipley, Henrys parents were William born 1807 and Grace Laycock born 1809. I hope that I have provided enough information and someone may be able to help me. Thanking you in anticipation Chris

    3. Chris As far as I can see, Raistrick was quite a common name in Idle and Shipley in the late 1800's. I have however, a Rhoda Raistrick born c1888 in Baildon, daughter of Hartley Raistrick (b c1865) and Mary Mumby (b 1868). Because of her remoteness to me, I have no info on Rhoda after the 1901 Census, but must admit that I have not looked too seriously. Hartley was the brother of John Raistrick (b c1856), who in 1889 married Isabella Scott (b c1861), with one of John and Isabella's descendants being the grandfather of the husband of one of my directly related aunts....... and her daughter is one of my best allies in researching our family history. So possibly a very tenuos connection, but no knowledge of any Raistrick's in Manchester....... Let me know if any further info might be helpful, and I'll send you what I have off-list Regards Geoff in very hot Sevilla >From: "CHRISTINE" <CHRISTINE.SHELMERDINE@ntlworld.com> >Reply-To: west-riding@rootsweb.com >To: <lancsgen@rootsweb.com> >CC: west-riding@rootsweb.com >Subject: [WRY] raistrick >Date: Mon, 2 Jul 2007 23:28:17 +0100 > >Henry Raistrick was born in 1884 in Bradford, he was married to Annie >Elizabeth Tetley.
