Hello Christine I don't know if there is any connection but in one of the families that I am working on there is a Walter Raistrick ARCHBELL. He was the son of Jabez Samuel ARCHBELL and Sarah Jane TURTON. Sarah Jane was the daughter of Josiah TURTON and Jane Elizabeth RAISTRICK. All these families were originally from Yorkshire and came to South Africa (more specifically Natal) in the 1840s. My main interest is in the family of James ARCHBELL and his wife Elizabeth HAIGH who came from Tadcaster and Leeds. And in their link to my own HAIGH family from Huddersfield, but I do have access to information on the TURTONS and possibly the RAISTRICKS if you are interested. And while I am about it if anyone could help me find John HAIGH ( probably Rev.) who married Elizabeth TEMPEST in 1779 I would be eternally grateful! I have her father as Hugh TEMPEST (possibly of Brasfeild Hall) who marries ?? EDMONDOSON in 1750. The Edmonsons come from Barnoldwick but seem to have been a huge family. I have Elizabeth HAIGH living at Elmwood Place in Leeds before the 1841 census but then she disappears so I guess that she died before 1841. All the best from KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.
