Hello, Nelson, The Dentons are listed below. At least is tells you the marriage you mention was in Mirfield, not Kirkheaton. Mirfield seems to be almost incestuous in the interrelationships between the families! I have ties to Wrathmel, too: my line is Barker, and it's so big I haven't even done this kind of analysis on them, yet. Which reminds me to say to the list at large: Nelson is lucky that his Denton family is relatively small and I simply couldn't undertake normally to list whole families over 200 years. If you need a look up, please do restrict it (by name) as much as possible. best wishes Maggie October 1621 Richard Denton and Sara Hall were maried ye xvjth daye Aprill 1623 Richard Denton son named George xpn'ed ye xxvijth daie August 1624 bur. Sorting them out is the problem. The IGI does not list deaths for most part so my "tree" may contain some dead babies who "had kids" ! :-(((

Thanks Maggie. That gives me some more accurate info than the IGI does. :-))) I agree completely with Maggie on the size of some families in small towns and the almost hopelessness of sorting out some families. The HIRST family in "Mirfield" (pop <3,000) has over 1500 references to it on the IGI!!! with close to 2500 people named. That's a lot to sort out. I've whittled the list down to 1117 individuals so far, with hundreds more duplicates to merge. I'm figuring about 6-700 people named Hirst were born in Mirfield from 1500-1850 not including spouses and descendents with other surnames And why ever did David and John Hirst both decide to name their son's "John" on 22 Dec 1804 and 20 Dec 1804 respectively!!! I hope one had red hair and the other black! Nelson Denton Admin HIRST DENTON-UK ENG-YKS-DEWSBURY FIRTH SENIOR SHEARD WRAITHMELL and many other lists
