If anyone 'owns' George CROSS then the following is a real gem for them : Apprentice absconded - Whereas George Cross, apprentice to Thomas Banks, of Ripon, left his masters service, on Sunday morning last, without any just cause, and has not since returned. Notice is hereby given, that whoever employs the said apprentice after this notice, will be prosecuted; and a handsome reward will be paid to any person who will cause him to be apprended, on giving notice to his said master. George Cross is seventeen years of age, five feet two inches high, of a swarthy complexion, grey eyes, and dark hair, and has a scar across his forehead. He had on when he went away a bottle-green coat, black and yellow striped waistcoat, and cotton cord bereeches. NB - He was seen at Harrogate on Sunday night.
