Today I was looking at some non-conformist baptism records. Didn't find any lost cousins but have always found church records irresistible & make copious notes which are of no actual use to my research. CULLINGWORTH Wesleyan Methodist Chapel opened in 1806 These were consecutive entries - every mother was called MARY Grace daughter of Joshua & Mary GREENWOOD of Cullingworth was born 30 May and baptised 19 July 1820 by me Abraham CRABTREE Nancy daughter of Benjamin & Mary LONGBOTTOM husbandman of Cullingworth was born 24 Oct. and baptised 29 Oct. 1820 by me Abraham CRABTREE Margaret daughter of William & Mary IBOTSON of ------ in the parish of Bradford was born 17 July and baptised 1 Nov 1820 by me Abraham CRABTREE Joseph son of John & Mary NORTHORP of Cullingworth was born 27 Nov 1820 and baptised 24 Jan 1821 by me Abraham CRABTREE Joseph & Benjamin twin sons of Thomas & Mary PICKLES of Cullingworth were born 2 July and baptised 22 July 1821 by me William WELBORNE. As we know, non-conformist baptism registers were deposited in the General Register Office in 1837 "pursuant to the Act iof the 4th Victoria Cap. 92". The local Ministers must have been exhausted during those last few days before the registers were sent to London. DENBY DALE Wesleyan Chapel opened in 1799 (formerly Denby Dikeside) James JENKINSON, farmer of Ingbirchworth & his wife Ann whose name was BROADBENT had the following children baptised 30 June 1837 William born 12 Feb 1826 Elizabeth born 22 Dec 1827 Hannah born 16 Oct 1830 Martha born 11 Aug 1834 Ann born 9 Sep 1836 Joseph HAIGH, weaver of Ingbirchworth & his wife Ann whose name was ELLISON had the following offspring baptised 30 June 1837 Benjamin born 15 Mar 1822 Edward born 30 Jan 1824 Allen born 17 Nov 1829 Samuel born 14 Aug 1832 Ann born 21 Sep 1835 Uriah HAIGH, weaver of Ingbirchworth & his wife Sarah whose name was HOLMES had their family baptised 30 June 1837 Samuel born 11 Dec 1823 Elizabeth born 8 Feb 1825 Mary born 25 Dec 1827 Hellen born 17 Jul 1830 Phillip born 12 May 1831 William born 17 Apr 1833 Emmy born 4 Apr 1835 Eady born 29 Jan 1837 These 19 children were all baptised by James BUMSTEAD Cheers Mabel in NZ
