There are 2 Martha possible ARMITAGEs in Almondbury on the 1851 census of suitable age, neither records "Matilda". No suitable baptisms are on the HDFHS Almondbury CD. Any help gratefully received. On the off-chance, is anyone else looking at this branch?>. Hi Andy I have no connections to Martha Matilda ARMITAGE, but there is only one suitable candidate in the 1841 census for South Crosland: HO 107/1273/9 18 7 117 Hill Top Martha Armitage aged 8 Born in county. The household is headed by Nathan Armitage, 35, woollen weaver, born in county. The oldest female in the household is Sarah, 35. Next door (18 7 116) is the household of David Armitage, 40, a woollen weaver. I can only see one suitable candidate, the same person, in the 1851 census for South Crosland: HO107 /2291 304 1B 96 Hll Top Fold Martha Armitage daughter 17 unmarried factory girl cotton born South Crosland The household is headed by Nathan Armitage head married 45 stone delver born South Crosland. His wife Sarah, 50, was born in Honley. Sadly there is no mention of middle name Matilda by way of confirmation. I can supply more family details if needed. Regards, Lesley
