    1. Re: [WRY] Amos DYSON, c.1811
    2. I have Amos Hirst born 1811 Longwood in my data base.... He was dedicated at Salendine Nook Baptist Church, Lindley, Hudds 4 sep 1811, he can be found on the 1851,61 censuses living at Hirst in Longwood a woollen weaver, so this one is not the Amos Hirst the baptist minister. He made a will 5 dec 1866 proved wakefield 18 dec 1866 and left £100 Hope this helps Regards Steve Whitwam Golcar, HUddersfield http://www.whitwam.co.uk Message: 2 Date: Mon, 7 Nov 2011 10:58:35 +0000 From: Gordon Dyson Subject: Re: [WRY] Amos DYSON, c.1811 To: west-riding@rootsweb.com Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Thank you very much, Roy, I am now 99% sure that the BIRTH you gave me, 4 Sep 1811 at Salendine Nook is the correct one. I did say that I had found 2 IGI entries, one of which is the same date as yours, at Huddersfield, (Parish Church ?) also parent same as James & Sally, but the one I found was Batch No 0442828. ?? I presume that his "Birth" is in both Registers ? Do you agree that the marriage of his parents, is the one - 15 Apr 1811, James DYSON to "Sarah" LEE at Huddersfield, (birth 6 months later ?) This Amos is the Gt.grandfather of Sir Frank Watson DYSON, Astronomer Royal. Thank you again, Regards,
