By far the most reliable entry is the one that is an official extraction from the chapel records with the batch no. C093571. The submitted entries do not indicate any birth or baptism at Huddersfield Parish Church and it seems to me very likely that all three entries refer to the same event at Salendine Nook. However, I should draw your attention to another Amos Dyson, birth 5 Dec 1819 christening 25 Jan 1811 at High StreetChapel Methodist New Connexion, Huddersfield, son of Eli Dyson and Mary, batch no. C136071, which means it's also an officially extracted record. I think it more likely that the Amos son of James and Sally is your man, especially as he became a baptist minister, but you really ought to try and eliminate the other Amos if possible! The marriage of James Dyson and Sarah Lee at Huddersfield Parish Church on 15 Apr 1811 (batch no. M018508) certainly seems a possibility for "your" Amos's parents, given that Sally was an accepted pet-name for Sarah and also, of course, they couldn't possibly have been married in a nonconformist chapel at that time, all marriages except Jews and Quakers having to be in the C of E under Hardwick's Marriage Act 1753. -- Roy Stockdill Genealogical researcher, writer & lecturer Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
