    2. I suggest you ask Ancestry via the Contact Us button - don't bother with the Help buttons. I have checked a few more names which appear in the IGI for C058891 (Knaresborough) within the early time period up to 1812, and they don't come up at all on Ancestry either - and I used just the names, not the location, so it doesn't look like an indexing error. I suspect you are right in thinking the register has not been fully transcribed. You might also get some help from the West Yorkshire Archives Service in Wakefield who have been working with Ancestry on this digitisation: if they didn't have the records themselves, they wouldn't have been able to let Ancestry have them. I know Genuki says the BTs were at Leeds for the period in question, but it's worth asking: perhaps it was only the records at Wakefield they could use. There are only 2 pages and whatever it is has to be a tiny chapel as it covers several years in two small pages. Knaresborough and Harrogate are not and were not tiny. The IGI listing is from the BTS. Hopefully, someone has located the REAL registers of Karesborough. If not, I can look this up in the BTS when I get to Salt Lake in January. 1. Re: [WRY] WEST-RIDING Digest, Vol 6, Issue 215
    2. PS I don't know what you hope to find which is not contained in the IGI record: the baptism data at that time is only likely to give a father's name (which is quoted, Thos) not a mother, there will probably be no address but there may be a township. But if you just want to joy of seeing the actual entry, then it's worth pursuing! 1. [WRY] Knaresborough parish registers on Ancestry (SIZER)
    2. Elizabeth Allen
    3. Dear Maggie Many thanks for your suggestions. I will contact both Ancestry and the West Yorkshire Archives Service and see what they have to say. At least I know it's not just me who can't find this baptism! I realise that the original register is unlikely to give me more information than the IGI (though I may be pleasantly surprised!), but I do like to have a copy of the actual register entry wherever possible. Kind regards Lizzie  >________________________________ >From: "maggiemole@aol.com" <maggiemole@aol.com> >To: west-riding@rootsweb.com >Sent: Monday, 14 November 2011, 17:09 >Subject: Re: [WRY] WEST-RIDING Digest, Vol 6, Issue 215 > > >I suggest you ask Ancestry via the Contact Us button - don't bother with the Help buttons.
