Many thanks for all the responses, in particular to Margaret Cambridge, who was able to point me to exactly the marriage certificate I need here ("my" Louisa SCOTT is the one who married George CHESWORTH in July 1904). My general approach over the years I have been researching, rightly or wrongly, has always been to do everything possible to eliminate alternatives before ordering certificates so that I can be as certain as possible I am ordering the right certificate - minimising the work I am asking the Register Office to undertake.
