    3. Hi, I know you have pushed Findmypast before over ancestry and I did try a trial subscription but, I actually prefer ancestry as meets more of my needs better it also offers quite a lot of australian info. Obviously if all you want is a 1911 census detail then ancestry won't help at the moment. But there might be a better less expensive way to obtain this than subscribing to either of them. I find the 1911 census less helpful in my research as I have known relatives who were alive then. Mind you I have one very elusive one and I would love to know more about her whereabouts after 1920. Help Barrie > Haigh from lovely Anna Bay Australia > The best suggestion I can offer is to ignore Ancestry and sign up with Findmypast, which has the full 1911 census with indexes, transcriptions and images - and has done so since January 2009. You can purchase pay-as-you-go units rather than take out a year's subscription. -- Roy Stockdill Genealogical researcher, writer & lecturer Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
